Our client is managing a well-known luxury property located in Croydon / Lilydale area of Melbourne with clear emphasis on customer service and high-end functions/banqueting operations. We are now searching for a highly experienced Banquets Manager to manage the overall operations for banquets, events and functions facilities. One of the prime responsibility of the Banquets Manager is to maintain excellent customer relationship (before, during and after the functions have completed).

This career oriented position will focus on all operational activities including the financial performance of the department, managing your team as well as developing sales and marketing plans to promote and ripen the department's revenues.

The right candidate will have a stable background working in leading 5 star Hotels/Resorts or Boutique properties. You will enjoy a hands-on management role, where you can lead your team to exceptional standards. You will work well as part of a busy team and will have the skills and abilities to work in a multicultural environment.


Key Attributes:

  • Must have at least 5-7 years' experience in Banquet/Functions operations and showcase a very stable work history
  • Conducting stock-takes, supplier negotiations and security control
  • Understand the guest's requirements to offer a more sophisticated bar culture
  • Must have background in servicing client requirements for VIP functions/events
  • Very social personality who likes to greet/meet guests/customers
  • Must be able to significantly contribute towards achieving KPIs and set goals
  • Able to set budgets and have a strong hold on controlling costs
  • Develop wine programmes/lists and training
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Able to train and coach a workforce of more than 40 members and lead by example
  • Showcase clear emphasis on quality and maintain excellent guest services at all times
  • Capable enough to work on cost control, budgets and supervise other required details of the department's financial records
