  • Salary: US$48,000 Net + 2 years completion bonus + housing + medical cover + annual flight

  • Candidate MUST have strong experience within large hotels featuring more than 250 rooms (would prefer candidates who come from 300 plus rooms background)
  • Candidate MUST have strong experience in managing engineering and maintenance aspect of the business including renovations and development of new facilities
  • Exceptional knowledge and technical know-how of air-conditioning, power & plant operation & distribution

Our client is managing a newly renovated 5 star hotel in Africa. The hotel is featuring more than 300 rooms, more than 5 F&B outlets and sit down dinner function facility for more than 500 pax. To manage the overall facilities of the hotel, we are therefore searching for an experienced Director of Engineering to direct, lead and plan the activities of engineering and maintenance division.

You will have the challenging task of managing a complex and diverse operation and to coordinate all engineering and maintenance functions.

Professional Profile:

  • Must speak English and French fluently
  • Candidate MUST have experience of working as Director of Engineering for 5 star hotels featuring more than 250 rooms for the past 3 years
  • Have excellent knowledge of managing diesel generators, refrigeration and electrical equipment
  • Experienced in air-conditioning, power & plant operation & distribution
  • Able to develop new SOPs for the department
  • Good planner and outstanding in logistics
  • Academically and technically qualified
  • Manage a team of engineering and maintenance personnel
  • Proficient in managing multicultural task forces
  • Technically proficient and implementing preventive maintenance programs
  • Handling all safety procedures and facility support services
  • Excellent communicator and reporting to General Manager
  • Superb organizational skills
  • Financially astute
  • Project management experience a big plus
  • Proactive, pleasant personality, great team player
  • Exceptional administration and communication skills
