Director of Sales & Marketing - Luxury Resort Opening in late 2017 - Maldives

  • Fluency in English and additional French/German a distinct plus
  • Candidate MUST be well connected in the high-end leisure segments for all feeder markets for the Maldives particularly Europe
  • Candidate MUST have pre-opening experience
  • Candidate must hold a degree in hospitality or relevant discipline from an accredited university of hotel school

Our client is opening a new leisure resort in the Maldives featuring 80 plus high-end villas, 4 food and beverage outlets and a wellness center. We are now looking for a young and dynamic individual who has a solid background in sales with very strong Indian Ocean experience and the knowledge to sell high-end products and services such as the ones offered by our client. The candidate will be offered the role of a Director of Sales & Marketing.

The candidate MUST have excellent network across Europe to sell and promote the resort's services.

Key Profile:

  • Candidate MUST presently hold a senior Sales & Marketing role with an international brand for the last 2 years
  • Candidates must have prior luxury property experience in the Maldives or Indian Ocean 
  • Responsible for overall sales positioning of the resort
  • Development of all Sales SOPs
  • Development of all pre-opening and post opening sales activities
  • Compilation of initial Sales budgets and strategies
  • Responsible for contracting of all international suppliers
  • Assist on recruitment of sales team
  • Attend suitable trade and road shows in feeder markets
  • Must have prior high end luxury exposure
  • Must be well connected in the high end leisure segments for all feeder markets for the Maldives particularly Europe
  • Degree or equivalent hospitality related qualification is required
  • Running successful campaigns for digital sales and marketing, handling brand communication and e-commerce activities
  • Ability to analyse market trends and draw up precise competitor analysis/results to change strategies
  • Showcase exceptional knowledge of branding, marketing and cultural awareness 
  • Candidate MUST be an effective strategist and should be highly organised 
  • Have the ability to remain highly creative, and innovative brining fresh ideas to the table
  • Keep a strong line of liaison with the marketing, finance, engineering and food and beverage teams
  • Should be very much hands-on and happy to roll up the sleeves and get the job done
  • MUST be a team player and provide motivation to the team
  • Work closely with stakeholders and senior management to ensure complete understanding and implementation of sales strategies
  • Candidate MUST have an attitude to not just hit targets but exceed the targets as well
